The First City Christmas Tree: A Tradition That Inspired Our Dream
More than 500 years ago, on a frosty winter night in 1510, the city of Riga, Latvia, was filled with the warm light of lanterns and the joyful voices of townspeople. In the very heart of the town square, something never seen before appeared — a large fir tree, decorated with ribbons, dried flowers, and handmade ornaments. This tree, set up by the Brotherhood of Blackheads, a guild of merchants, became the symbol of a new Christmas tradition.
People gathered around the tree, singing, celebrating, and sharing joy. It was in that moment that a simple but powerful idea was born: the Christmas tree as a symbol of unity, warmth, and the magic of the holiday.
Memories That Stayed With Us Forever
Like many children, we at Evexmas grew up with Christmas trees as the center of family celebrations. That thrilling moment when the tree was brought into the house felt almost sacred — the smell of fresh pine filling the room, trembling hands unwrapping delicate ornaments, and the warm glow of garlands reflected in eyes full of holiday wonder.
But as we grew older, we began to see another side of the story. We saw how vast areas of forests were being cut down to satisfy the annual demand for real Christmas trees. Millions of trees were felled just for a few weeks of celebration and then thrown away. We realized that a tradition meant to bring joy was unintentionally harming the planet.
The Birth of Evexmas: A New Take on the Christmas Tree
That’s when we asked ourselves: Can we preserve the magic of Christmas without harming nature?
This question became the foundation of Evexmas. We dreamed of creating an alternative to real trees that would look just as natural, just as magical, but be environmentally friendly and long-lasting. We envisioned Christmas trees that would bring families together year after year, instead of being discarded after one season.
That’s how our journey began. We thoroughly researched, developed, and tested our models so that every Evexmas tree would look and feel like the real thing. We paid attention to every detail: from the shape of the branches to the softness of the needles, from the rich green color to the durability of the construction.
Preserving the Magic for Generations to Come
Just like the first tree in Riga became a symbol of hope and joy, we want every Evexmas tree to bring that same spirit into homes across Europe.
Our mission is to help people preserve holiday traditions without sacrificing nature. Each of our trees is not just a decoration, but a way to unite the past, present, and future in one evergreen symbol of Christmas.
We believe that the magic of the holidays should live on forever — but not at the expense of nature. That’s why our trees are made to be used year after year, creating warmth and joy for generations to come.
With Evexmas, you’re not just buying a tree. You’re bringing home a piece of tradition, care for the planet, and a touch of Christmas magic.
